The backyard of this home won the Delaware Today Magazine’s annual Home and Garden design contest, Outdoor Space in November of 2005.

The entire backyard was designed and installed by ourselves, with the exception of the swimming pool. The pool was installed by Sparkle Pools of Denton, MD, but designed by us. The normal pool deck has approximately 10 yards of concrete. This pool has 27 yards, allowing for plenty of open space and seating. The deck uses the radius of the pool to start it’s shape. You will not feel crowded anywhere on this deck. And the gazebo provides shade to relax in, as well as have a pleasant meal, or the Eastern Shore favorite, Blue Crabs! You can also sit here on the fourth of July and see most of the Laurel fireworks!

The fish pond was a big project in itself. The design constantly changed during its construction to it’s present form. When entering the backyard from the side yard you actually cross a bridge over the pond. The bridge also gives a great vantage point to watch the fish play. The pond actually has 4 waterfalls that all feed the main pond. You can hear the water from anywhere in the backyard. It is VERY relaxing.

And yes, you will have to feed the fish. But I can almost guarantee that you will enjoy it!
